NutrientOS

Privacy Policy

Effective date: June 18, 2026

Overview

NutrientOS helps users track meals, nutrition, fitness progress, and wellness habits. This privacy policy explains what information the app may collect, how it is used, and the choices users have.

Information We Collect

  • Account information, such as an email address used to sign in.
  • Nutrition, meal, fitness, and progress information entered by the user.
  • Camera images or uploaded photos submitted by the user for food scanning, physique progress, or body composition estimate features.
  • Optional health, workout, sleep, water, supplement, and checkup information entered or connected by the user.
  • App usage, device, and diagnostic information needed to operate and improve the app.

How Information Is Collected

  • Directly from you when you create an account, enter profile details, log meals or activity, type a request, or upload a photo.
  • From device features you intentionally connect or permit, such as the camera, photo library, notifications, or Apple Health.
  • Automatically when needed to operate the service, such as security logs, feature usage, device type, and diagnostics.
  • From service providers that support authentication, hosting, subscriptions, payments, and requested AI processing.

How We Use Information

We use information to provide app features, including meal logging, AI food scanning, physique progress review, body composition estimates, nutrition estimates, progress tracking, account access, app security, support, and service improvement.

Camera And Photos

NutrientOS requests camera access only when users choose to scan food, submit a progress photo, or use a body composition estimate feature. Submitted images may be processed by AI services to identify visible foods, estimate nutrition, review physique progress, or provide broad body composition estimates. Users can choose not to use camera-based features.

Third-Party AI Processing And Your Permission

NutrientOS uses OpenAI, L.L.C. and its affiliates, the third-party AI provider used to process AI features. Before NutrientOS sends personal data to OpenAI for the first time, the app presents a permission screen that identifies OpenAI, explains the data categories below, and asks you to choose Allow AI processing or Not now. Declining does not prevent manual food, workout, water, supplement, sleep, or progress tracking.

Depending on the AI feature you request, NutrientOS may send OpenAI:

  • Meal or body photos you select for AI food scans, physique reviews, or body-composition estimates.
  • Coach questions, meal descriptions, recipe requests, correction notes, and other text you intentionally submit to an AI feature.
  • Relevant profile context, including name, age, height, weight, sex, goal, activity level, and dietary preference, when needed to personalize a requested Coach response.
  • Relevant recent nutrition totals, workout summaries, and body measurements when needed to answer a requested Coach question.

NutrientOS does not intentionally send OpenAI your NutrientOS password, full authentication credentials, or payment-card details. OpenAI receives the data only to generate the AI result you requested, support abuse and security monitoring, and operate its API. NutrientOS does not use this data for advertising profiles or sell it.

NutrientOS sets OpenAI Responses API storage to off. Under OpenAI's API data controls, API data is not used to train OpenAI models unless the API customer explicitly opts in; NutrientOS does not opt in. OpenAI may retain abuse-monitoring logs containing prompts, responses, images, and related metadata for up to 30 days, unless a longer period is required for legal or security reasons. Review OpenAI's API data controls.

You can review or withdraw permission at any time under Profile > Privacy > OpenAI data processing. Withdrawal blocks future AI transmissions but does not affect processing already completed or records a provider must retain for security or legal purposes.

Sharing And Service Providers

We do not sell or rent your personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. To operate the app, your information may be processed by service providers acting on our behalf, including Supabase (authentication and database hosting), Render (application hosting), OpenAI, L.L.C. and its affiliates, the third-party AI provider used to process AI features, RevenueCat together with the Apple App Store and Google Play (subscriptions and payments), and diagnostics or analytics providers.

NutrientOS requires service providers that process personal information on our behalf, including OpenAI, to provide the same or an equivalent level of privacy and security protection described in this policy and to process information only for authorized service purposes. Providers may process data in the United States and other countries, which may have different data protection laws than your own. We may also disclose information if required by law or to protect the rights, safety, and security of our users, the public, or the service.

Data Retention

We keep account data and user-created NutrientOS data for as long as your account is active or as long as needed to provide the app features you use. This may include profile settings, nutrition logs, food scan results, body scan results, body composition estimates, recipes, workout logs, training regimen data, sleep and wellness logs, checkup history, coach messages, subscription status, support requests, and app security records.

When you delete your account or request deletion, we delete or de-identify personal app data associated with your account within 30 days after verifying the request, unless a longer period is required for legal, security, fraud prevention, dispute resolution, accounting, or operational backup purposes. Encrypted backup copies may remain in routine backup systems for up to 90 days before they are overwritten or deleted.

We may keep aggregated, anonymized, or de-identified analytics that can no longer reasonably identify you. Payment, subscription, authentication, and app store transaction records may also be retained by Apple, Google, Supabase, RevenueCat, or other service providers according to their own policies and legal requirements.

Data Deletion

You can request deletion of your NutrientOS account and associated app data at any time. In the app, sign in, open Profile, then use Account Deletion. You can also visit Delete Account And Data for instructions.

If you cannot access the app, email support@nutrientos.com from the email address connected to your account with the subject line Delete my NutrientOS account. After verification, we will delete or de-identify your account, profile, logs, scans, recipes, workouts, checkups, coach messages, and other user-created app data associated with your account.

Deleting your NutrientOS account does not automatically cancel an active Apple App Store or Google Play subscription. You should manage or cancel subscriptions through your Apple or Google account.

Security

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect your information, including encrypted transport and access controls. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Children's Privacy

NutrientOS is intended for users who are at least 16 years old and is not directed to children under 16. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 16. If you believe a child has provided us personal information, contact support@nutrientos.com and we will delete it.

Your Privacy Rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or receive a copy of your personal information, and to object to or restrict certain processing. California residents have rights under the CCPA/CPRA, including the right to know, delete, and correct personal information, the right to opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information, and the right not to be discriminated against for exercising these rights. We do not sell or share personal information as those terms are defined under California law.

To exercise any of these rights, use the in-app account and deletion controls or email support@nutrientos.com from the email address connected to your account. We will verify your request before acting on it, and you may use an authorized agent where the law permits.

Changes To This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy as the app changes or as required by law. When we make material changes, we will update the effective date above and, where appropriate, provide additional notice in the app. Your continued use of the app after an update means you accept the revised policy.

Health Disclaimer

NutrientOS is not a medical app and does not provide medical advice. Nutrition, fitness, and body composition estimates are for informational purposes only and may not be exact.
